The Peace of Wild Things

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

Fare you well, Chippolina!

Chipo was living in our pack since April 2002 and she has fitted with ease into our family. She was born in dutch kennel Bor-Mazoe.

She was a very balanced, calm dog inside the house. But running in the fields, she showed all the power she had got and we enjoyed seeing her play around with our younger dogs even at the ripe age of 12 years.

She had an excellent temperament, was mostly laid back but still a great watchdog. She showed a great social behavior in our pack, didn't care much for other dogs - except when she was driving with us, then she would go berserk seeing any dog on the road.

Chipo was always hungry and always looking for something to eat. She knew how to open doors and any unobserved meal was HERS ;-).

Besides she simply enjoyed being around us at every second of the day and to slip under our covers at night.

We tried to mate her several times with no luck. When we got Moyo from Australia, it was love at first sight. In August 2005 she had a litter of 8 wonderful puppies sired by him.
